Leadpages: Its Features and Services
Templates
Let’s start with Leadpages, the cheaper of the two options.
Leadpages gives you over 220 templates to choose from. Templates are available for every need and design.
This includes templates for ebook downloads, coming soon announcements, lead capture pages, sales pages, promotions, thank-you pages, upsell pages, video landing pages, webinar signups, and more.
Finding templates is pretty easy: You can sort templates by industry, by the most relevant, and by the highest converting (this allows you to choose templates that have been proven to work and convert).
Once you choose your template, you can easily customize it with Leadpages’ drag-and-drop editor. You can preview your results as you edit the landing page.
There are many widgets you can drag and add to your landing pages, including headings, subheadings, paragraphs, buttons, countdown timers, signup forms, social sharing buttons, and more. You can also add an HTML widget to add custom a HTML code snippet to your template.
Integrations
Leadpages integrates with many platforms, including Aweber, Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Convert Kit, Paypal, Stripe, GetResponse, LiveChat, and many more. This allows you to seamlessly build an email list or collect payments.
If you don’t yet have an email service provider, you can have your leads’ details sent directly to your email account.
Publishing landing pages
Publishing your landing page is as simple as having it hosted live on the Leadpages platform. If, however, you wish to use your own URL, you can use the Leadpages WordPress plugin to publish your landing pages to your WordPress site with a few clicks.
You can also copy and paste a special HTML code to publish landing pages on your site if you are using a different platform.

You can publish more than one version of each landing page in order to compare the results each one gets. This is also known as A/B testing or split testing.
Analytics
Finally, Leadpages offers you detailed analytics, such as page views, conversions, conversion rates, and so on. You can also add an HTML code snippet to connect a third-party tracking service.
Other features
Leadpages, however, does have some features that Instapage does not have. For example, they have a tool which will create Facebook ads with data pulled from your landing pages.
You can then customize those ads further as you wish. Your Facebook tracking pixel will be automatically added to your landing pages.
You can also use their Leaddigits texting service to allow people to sign up as leads by texting a special keyword to a special number, which is useful when dealing with in-person events.

Instapage: How It Compares
Templates and Integrations
Instapage, while pricier, has more features and tends to be favored by more advanced users or teams that are working together.
Most of Leadpages’ features listed above can be found in Instapage as well. It has free templates, a drag-and-drop editing platform, integration with various third-party platforms, easy publishing options (including a WordPress plugin), split-testing capabilities, and analytics tracking.
However, Instapage has some features Leadpages does not have, and we’ll start exploring them one by one.
While Leadpages has 220+ templates, Instapage has over 500 free templates to choose from. The quality of the templates are similar (though this is obviously subjective).
Not only that, but Instapage has something called Instablocks, which are basically templates for specific sections of landing pages, such as the heading or the footer.
Get more from your ad spend. Create high-converting beautiful landing pages using Instapage and see your sales soaring in quick time.
Together with Instablocks comes a feature called Global Blocks. If you are working on many landing pages (including those on different sites) from one account, Global Blocks will make editing them on a mass scale much easier.
You can create, save, and use a single Global Block template for one specific section of multiple landing pages, and then edit them simultaneously from one dashboard.
Customization Options
We mentioned that both Leadpages and Instapage come with a drag-and-drop editing platform. However, Instapage offers more customization options.
With Leadpages, you can add widgets to a landing page, but you are limited as to where in the landing page you can place them. Each template comes with preset rows and sections, and your widgets must fit together in a certain row or column.
With Instapage, however, you have total freedom as to where you can drag and place a widget. Widgets can literally be placed anywhere on a landing page.
This gives you a lot more flexibility and the ability to form and adjust a landing page according to your specific needs and preferences. There are also more options for adding HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
This makes Instapage a great choice for more advanced users, while users who are simply looking to build a high-quality landing page quickly and easily may prefer Leadpages.
Better Collaboration Options
If you work together with other team members or manage a larger team, Instapage’s collaboration tools might make it a better option for you.
If you want to add a comment or request an edit on a specific element of a landing page, all you have to do is click on it and add your notes. You can give specific feedback in this manner. If you wish to reply to another team member’s comment, you can do so as well.
You can tag specific team members if your notes are addressed to a certain individual. Comments and comment threads can be deleted and marked as resolved when needed.
You can also share your templates with clients privately and securely. If you work with more than one brand, this will allow you to have them review and give feedback on landing pages you are designing for them.
Landing pages can be shared with your legal team or your compliance team as well if the need to do so arises.
There is also a message center that allows you to view all notifications for all landing pages.
Analytics
While both Leadpages and Instapage offer you analytics, Instapage is a little more advanced in this regard. For example, they offer heatmap tracking. This allows you to see where exactly on each landing page people are scrolling to and clicking on.
Responsive Designs
Instapage is also the winner when it comes to responsive designs. All of Leadpages’ templates are mobile responsive, meaning they will adapt and adjust to each device they are being displayed on automatically. The same goes for all of Instapage’s templates.
However, Instapage actually allows you to edit a separate version of each landing page for mobile devices if you so wish. First, you get to preview how your landing page will look on tablets and mobile phones.
Then, you can remove sections that you think mess up the look on mobile devices and generally customize it according to your preferences. Your landing page can have both a desktop and a mobile version.
Finally, Instapage makes it easy to make your landing pages Google AMP friendly.
Instapage Pricing
Instapage has two pricing plans, which include:
