NFLbite Alternatives, History, Reviews & Safety

NFLbite is a popular website offering free streams for watching NFL and football games. For many cord-cutters, it is an important site for Sunday afternoons when they want to watch live streams of football games without paying for a cable subscription.

NFLBite was started when Reddit shut down the NFL Streams subreddit, which provided links to watch NFL games live without a cable subscription. While reviews generally rate it positively, there are some great alternatives as well, such as NFLStreamlinks.com.

In this article, we will be taking a closer look at NFLbite, its history, and how it came about. We will also be looking at NFLbite reviews and alternatives.

Let’s get into it.

NFLbite History

NFLbite was launched after the NFL Streams subreddit was banned. NFL Streams was a popular subreddit for football fans, with Reddit users sharing live streams of football games so others would not have to pay for them.

There would sometimes be dozens of streams per game, offered by different people who did have access to the live streams. It was truly a community-based project, allowing people who could not afford to pay for cable to view NFL games in real time.

Eventually, though, Reddit banned the community due to copyright infringement laws. Therefore, an alternative was needed, and NFLbite was launched.

NFLbite is a private website and thus not subject to the rules and regulations of third-party platforms like Reddit. On NFLbite, you can still find streams to NFL games, live, without having to pay anything.

Furthermore, NFLbite goes beyond football and includes links to websites that feature live streams of various other sports.

For example, there are:

  • Soccer streams
  • Baseball streams at MLB Bite
  • Basketball streams at NBA Bite
  • Hockey streams at NHL Bite
  • Boxing streams at Boxing Bite
  • MMA streams at MMA Bite

Those are all sister sites that serve a similar purpose to NFLbite: offering live streams of popular games and competitions for people who don’t own a TV or can’t afford to pay for a cable subscription for whatever reason.

Those sites are important as well, as Reddit has banned their individual subreddits, such as the Soccer Streams subreddit and the NBA Streams subreddit.

In addition to live streams, the NFLbite website has a large selection of other resources, such as updated scores, schedules, stats, news related to the NFL, and more.

NFLbite is free to use. However, there are some alternatives you might want to check out as well.

First, though, let’s look at reviews of NFLbite.

NFLbite Reviews

There aren’t that many reviews of NFLbite online, so let’s start with my own review.

NFLbite is, in my opinion, the best site to go to if you want to watch live streams of NFL games without paying for it. I know how hard it can be to find watch games live, but NFLbite provides a handy solution.

Note that in this review I am talking about NFLBite.com specifically.

To get started, head to NFLBite.com. Then, enter the team name in the search bar or browse upcoming games directly below the search bar.

Popular games for the day will be listed, but you can also click on the small calendar icon to the left of the search bar to select upcoming dates on the calendar and see games that will be playing on those days.

When you see a game you want to watch, click on it to view links to live streams. Note that these links usually appear around one hour before the game starts.

You can also browse different teams in the top menu. Click on a team to see information about the team, upcoming games, where you can watch upcoming games, who the referee will be, and a lot more.

On the homepage, you can also scroll down to the news section, where you will find various news articles related to the NFL in particular and football in general.

At the top of the homepage, you can find links to NFLbite’s sister sites, such as MMA Bite and Boxing Bite, where you can find streams to other sports.

Overall, I give NFLbite five stars for its ease of use. I also liked how it did not have any ads, which you will likely experience on other pirating sites, and it’s focused entirely on the NFL, with no distractions – if you want to watch other sports, there are separate sites for that.

Do note, however, that the site provides links to third party sites that offer the actual streams, so there may be ads on those sites.

There’s a reason it’s so popular; according to SimilarWeb, it gets over 1.5 million views per month, although that most likely varies based on season.

BizTech Age also reviewed NFLbite, concluding that it’s the best option if you want to watch free NFL Games.

With that said, let’s get into some alternatives you can use instead of NFLbite if you enjoy watching the NFL but don’t have a cable TV subscription and don’t want to pay for one.

NFLbite Alternatives

1. Nflstreamlinks.com

NFL Streams, at NFLStreamLinks.com, is another site where you can go to find links to NFL Streams. It was created to fill the void that occurred when Reddit banned the NFL Streams subreddit.

Before a match – around 30 minutes before – 10 or more links will appear to sites where you can watch the live stream of the match, with a team ensuring each stream is high quality.

On the right side of the site, you will see recent scores for different teams.

Overall, NFL Stream Links is super easy to use, and although there is a big ad in the header, I didn’t find it too annoying.

You can also find links to its sister sites, including:

  • Soccer Stream Links
  • NBA Stream Links
  • MLB Stream Links
  • MMA Stream Links
  • F1 Stream Links
  • Boxing Stream Links

2. NFL Hunter

Another awesome site for all things NFL is NFL Hunter, where you can also watch live streams of NFL games. It allows you to stream football games from channels like NBC and ESPN on any device, straight from your browser.

On the very top of the page, you will see a link to watch NFL RedZone live, and you will also see scores for the most recent game.

NFL Hunter also conveniently displays the logos of various teams, so you can quickly pick the team whose match you want to watch.

3. NFLbite.to

NFLbite.to is a similar site to NFLbite.com and an alternative to use when NFLbite.com is down. There may be times when you won’t be able to access NFLBite.com for whatever reason, such as server overload.

Or, there is the chance that the original NFLbite.com site can get banned due to copyright infringement laws. In that case, it would be useful to have a backup site you can access, and NFLbite.to is a good one.

4. The Reddit NFL Streams Telegram Channel

Even though Reddit banned the NFL Streams subreddit, there is still a free Telegram channel you can join. The channel has over 7,000 subscribers at the moment, and that number is only continuing to grow.

Make sure to turn on notifications, so you get updates of new NFL game stream links.

5. NFLStreamsHD.com

NFL Streams HD is another website where you can find links to Reddit NFL Streams. Around half an hour before a game, the site will post various links to live streams, with the best streams which offer the highest quality having a green checkmark next to their links and listed at the top.

There are also links to sister sites, such as MLB Streams HD, MMA Streams HD, and NHL Streams HD.

6. NFL Webcast

NFLWebcast.com is a fantastic alternative to NFLbite. It allows you to watch NFL games in 4K HD from any device, including your laptop, desktop, tablet, and mobile phone.

Another cool feature that it offers is the ability to record games and watch them later. Sometimes, you won’t have time to watch a game in real time, either due to work responsibilities or because you want to meet a friend at that time who isn’t interested in football.

In such a case, you would be able to record the game, do your thing, and then watch it later at your leisure. Another benefit of doing that is that you can pause the recording and go back to watch key moments whenever you want, while you might miss something when watching a game live.

Channels available on NFL Webcast include ESPN USA, NFL Red Zone, and NFL Network.

Scroll down a bit to see upcoming games, which you can watch in either standard or HD quality. You can also browse different teams by their logos at the top of the page.

7. Reddit NFL Streams

RedditNFLStreams.cc is a simple website that gives you links you can use to watch upcoming live streams of NFL games.

In addition to NFL games, you can also find links to college football games, Canadian Football League games, and links to sister sites for watching other sports, such as basketball, baseball, soccer, hockey, and MMA.

8. NFL Live Stream

NFLLiveStream.org is another excellent website worth checking out. It allows you to select your time zone to get a better indication of when exactly an upcoming game is going to start, which is certainly a plus.

You can watch the NFL Network, NFL Red Zone, and ESPN. Scores are updated in real time on the site, and you can also browse games by team.

According to the site, links to live streams usually get posted to the site a couple of hours before a game, so if you don’t see any links, it’s because there is no game scheduled.

The only downside to this site are the annoying ad redirects, but you can easily work around them.

9. NFLStreams.to

NFLStreams.to is another useful website worth adding to your list of sites where you can find links to live streams, just in case the other sites are down or not working right before an important game.

On the homepage, you will see upcoming games, along with basic information such as the teams that will be competing against each other and the time the game will happen. If there are past games, you can click on the game to see statistics and incidents.

10. Streameast

Streameast is a bit different from NFLbite in that it includes links not only for the NFL but for many sports all on one site, although they are nicely organized by category. Simply click on NFL in the top menu, and you will see the schedule for upcoming games.

If it says No Match Found, that means there are no upcoming matches coming anytime soon. Other sports available on the site include MMA, boxing, baseball, basketball, soccer, and more.

11. Sportsurge

Sportsurge is a nice site that features live streams for various sports, including football but also other major sports like basketball, baseball, and MMA.

You can also watch F1 racing. Click on Motor Sports to see upcoming events and games.

While I wasn’t the biggest fan of the black background style, as it can be a bit harsh on the eyes, I did like how simple the site was. There were no major distractions, redirects, or too many options to choose from.

12. NFLStreams.me

NFLStreams.me is yet another alternative to NFLbite that popped up when the Reddit NFL Streams subreddit was shut down by Reddit. It features links to games from the NFL, CFL, and college football.

Coverage includes live Thursday night football, ESPN Monday night football, NFL Network, NBC Sunday night football, and more.

Again, the black background with white lettering is not my favorite, and it can sometimes hurt your eyes to look at the site. However, it is still a useful site if you are looking for a way to watch football for free online.

There are also some ad redirects, but you can get around them easily by simply blocking pop-ups or closing any pop-up or new tab that opens up. These kinds of popups and redirects are a common feature of illegal streaming sites.

What About Subscriptions Like Hulu and Sling TV?

Before we wrap up this article, I thought it was important to address the topic of subscriptions that allow you to watch NFL games and other sports coverage online, from your desktop or phone, in an entirely legal manner.

There is a reason the NFL Streams subreddit got shut down, and that’s because it wasn’t entirely legal, as it violated various copyright laws. If you don’t want to do that, your best bet would probably be to sign up for a premium subscription that allows you to watch the NFL.

However, I must note that this isn’t the right solution for everyone, as streaming subscriptions may be lacking certain coverage options or channels. Besides, they cost money, although some of them do offer a free trial, which might be a good option if you only want to watch a specific game.

With that being said, let’s list a few subscription services you can use to watch football online.

Sling TV

Sling TV can be a good choice if you are interested in football, as it gives you access to NFL Network and NFL Redzone.

Football isn’t the only thing you can watch on Sling TV. For example, NHL Network is also available in the list of channels, which you can see here.

As an app-based service, it allows you to cut the cable and watch TV online, live, from your phone for a small monthly fee. Depending on your plan, you may also be able to watch from multiple devices at a time, making it a good choice if the entire family is interested in football.

One challenge you might face is the small delay that you would experience compared to watching it on an actual TV with a traditional cable TV streaming service. That’s not really a big deal for many, though you should probably stay off any messaging apps in case one of your friends spoils the game for you right before a big in-game happening.

ESPN and NBC Networks are also available, but CBS is not. That can be a dealbreaker for some people.

As I mentioned, various plans are available, and channel availability does vary from one plan to another. You may want to consider getting the Sports Extra add-on, giving you access to more than 10 additional channels, including NFL Redzone, depending on the original plan you chose and which channels that one included.

See updated pricing information for Sling TV here.

Hulu

With Hulu + Live TV, you can get access to every single NFL game throughout the entire football season. Preseason games are also included in your subscription.

Subscribers to Hulu + Live TV get access to Monday night football on ESPN and Sunday night football on NBC as well.

One advantage of using Hulu + Live TV is that you can take advantage of Hulu’s Cloud DVR. It allows you to record a game from the Live Guide if you are too busy to watch it in real time, giving you a chance to rewatch it later at your leisure.

However, for full access, I would recommend getting the Sports add-on on Hulu, which will give you access to NFL Redzone as well as other additional channels.

The downside of Hulu + Live TV (which is not included in a standard Hulu subscription) is, of course, the price.

At $69.99/month with ads and $79.99/month without ads, it’s not really cheap. The add-on will cost you an extra $9.99/month if you want NFL Redzone.

Also, live coverage can vary based on which local channels are available to you and due to blackouts. The Live Guide will tell you exactly what’s available for you to watch.

In other words, it’s not much better than local cable TV, except that you can watch from your phone without an actual cable subscription. However, in terms of content, don’t expect anything too different.

Altogether, though, there are over 85 channels on Hulu + Live TV, including channels offering sports coverage covering more than just football. The unlimited cloud DVR storage is another thing going for it as well – record as many games as you want and watch them later with no pressure.

NFL Plus (Formerly NFL Game Pass)

Of course, I can’t finish this article without talking about the NFL Game pass subscription, now known as NFL+.

Exact perks do depend on which plan you sign up for, as there is NFL+ and NFL+ Premium.

NFL + allows you access to live local and primetime games on your mobile device (either a phone or tablet). You will also get live audio for every single game of the season as well as ad-free NFL library programming.

NFL+ Premium, on the other hand, also gives you access to full replays across devices and condensed replays.

Condensed replays are usually less than an hour long, don’t include ads, and provide a way to watch games when you have limited time.

NFL+ Premium also gives you Coaches Film view of games, which is basically different angles of the game that will help you better see and appreciate what is going on.

The main downside, however, is that only preseason games are available live for off-market games, while you are restricted to regular local market availability for regular season games. That can be a dealbreaker for you, but it also depends on what you are looking for.

Being able to enjoy full replays of every single season game after it airs is all that some people need, especially if you are busy and would prefer to watch the games at your leisure.

NFL+ costs just $4.99/month and NFL+ Premium costs $9.99/month, so it’s not very expensive either.

NFLbite Safety – Is It Safe to Use?

NFLbite is safe to use. The website is free of viruses, malware, annoying pop-ups, and adware.

While it’s not entirely legal, the likelihood of facing any repercussions from using NFLbite is pretty much close to zero, as nobody in the government is expending the resources to follow up on internet users using NFLbite. If they wanted to crack down on it, they would start with the website owners themselves.

However, when following any links from NFLbite, do exercise caution. While most of the streams on NFLbite have been vetted, it’s always worth being careful when visiting third-party sites.

Wrapping It Up

I hope we are more familiar with NFLbite now.

NFLbite started after the NFL Streams subreddit was banned due to copyright infringement laws.

While it’s an excellent site, there are some other options that are just as good, which I have listed above, as well as cable-free streaming services such as Sling TV, Hulu, and NFL+.
